My dream for many years was to travel from the US to participate with my pup in the walk. In 2024, I was finally able to fulfil that dream at least partially. My boy was too old to make the trip comfortably, but myself & partner travelled to Southwold to experience this amazing event and to embrace the joy and love of a wonderful community. It will be a cherished memory of my lifetime.
Wow, what an amazing event! Where else would you find over two thousand dachshunds and their owners strolling along the beach having fun whatever the weather. Not only is this a record breaking event where owners get to discuss the breed and make friends it raises money and awareness for dachshunds with IVDD. A must on any dachshund owners calendar.
We have been there from the very first one, come rain or shine….and sometimes gale force winds and snow! It’s the best date in the Dachshund calendar and we wouldn’t miss it for the world! We meet up with friends do a little bit of shopping and usually finish with a drink in the pub! Southwold turns into sausage world for the day.
